The exhibition space was divided into eight subject zones. The exhibition entrance area was designed like a company entrance hall and summarized some of the preconditions of the whole project. A corporate Be Creative TV-channel presented actual economical data and quotes on the creative imperative. A selection of adverts from the e-economy in its full bloom entitled Are you one of them ? (produced by the Zurich artist Peter Spillmann), was presented like products on a shelf. On the wall, a fotographic art work by Mladen Stilinovics (Zagreb) from 1979 entitled Arist at work were shown, which ironizes and extends Modernism's notion of labour as well as the artist as its role model. A video on the Opel in Eisenach factory installed in the axes of the exhibition space, showed how the production of goods and information is controlled today by a new kind of «Human Resource Management» in which small teams of workers can and must manage their own jobs and work-flows. The former blue collar worker transform in the new production system not only symbollically into white collar knwoledge worker. |
