Anforderungsprofile I

The second spatial zone was a reading corner with various audio points, Powerpoint presentations, instructive brochures and private education-providers' logos. This different elements – researched and put together in a team by the swiss artists Irene Ledermann, Stefanie Habluetzel and Peter Spillmann, showed how widely changing education concept ranges.

Companies offer learning systems for all age groups and life situations. The demand for cultivating the «whole personality» and equal opportunities for all is replaced by tailoring your own education to commercial demand, in the short term, «creatively» and yourself. Position papers from the Canton of Zurich education department suggest i.e. that the «increasingly global value creation chain», «faster innovation and production cycles», «rapidly increasing demands on the working day» and «falling half-lives for specialist knowledge» are the trends that future education systems will have to address.

Reforms at the Hochschule für Kunst und Gestaltung Zürich were used to show the potential problems or opportunities and were confronted with an excerpt of a video on A.S.Niell and his Summerhill Reform school concept.
