Kreativitätstechniken II

In the forth section a work bench and a animation video challenged visitors to make a page for a copy style magazine of their own (FanZine). Three sets of shelves on the wall offer label copies, advertising material and a Levis merchandizing campaign. Installation and research were produced by the ex-design students Caro Cerbaro and Linda Herzog (Zurich).

The concept of «Do it yourself» describes ways of acquiring knowledge, practice or abilities for yourself, from the 50s male hobby worker and housewife via the anti-institutional self-organizational practices of 70s and 80s subcultures to self-management in the 90s. Motivations and aims have changed considerably since the post-war period. Today the «do it yourself» formula is used by marketing gurus to trigger more identification with life-style products.

A light box which stood aside the work bench showed printer's proofs of a book in which the artist Sabine Falk (Hamburg) reports on her manual work on the „Balloon Dog“ and the specific production conditions in Jeff Koons' studio in New York.
